Many of the first quarter releases in 1983 went on to become iconic rock blockbusters, including Def Leppard Pyromania,  Journey  Frontiers,  ZZ Top Eliminator , and David Bowie Let’s Dance . But the Irish quartet U2, who had shown flashes of potential earlier with “I Will Follow” and “Gloria“, declared War with a fiery earnestness in the songs “Sunday Bloody Sunday”, “New Years Day”, “Two Hearts Beat as One”, “Surrender“, and the concert highlight “40“.
