Joe Perry Rejoins Hollywood Vampires- Alice Cooper, Joe Perry, Johnny Depp

Hall of Fame guitarist Joe Perry, on hiatus from Aerosmith, collapsed on stage during a Hollywood Vampires performance at Coney Island, Brooklyn NY a few weeks ago and was  hospitalized, but we are very happy to report that Perry rejoined Alice cooper and Johnny Depp over the weekend performing in California.

The  legend of the original “Hollywood Vampires”, the loose collection of ribald rockers including John Lennon, Harry Nilsson, Keith Moon, and Alice Cooper who, in the early Seventies rarely saw the light of day but raved nightly on the Sunset Strip, provided notorious stories of rock debauchery as well as many charter members to the Betty Ford Clinic.

( Johnny Depp left, AC center, with guitarist Joe Perry during Grammy telecast )

The sole survivor left to resurrect the tale, Alice Cooper, has once again attracted a colorful core crew ( but clean and sober this time ) including guitar great Joe Perry of Aerosmith, the Guns’n’Roses rhythm section of Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum,  the coolest rhythm guitarist with a Screen Actors Guild card, Johnny Depp, plus a stunning list of guests including Joe Walsh, AC/DC lead singer Brian Johnson, Dave Grohl, Paul McCartney, and Perry Farrell of Jane’s Addiction. Check out the last man standing of the original Hollywood Vampires, Alice Cooper, who pulls the wooden stake of time from the heart of the legend with me In the Studio with blistering versions of the mashup “School’s Out/ Another Brick in the Wall pt 2″,”I Got a Line on You”,”Cold Turkey”,”Whole Lotta Love”, the Doors medley “5 to 1/ Break On through”, and the Harry Nilsson medley “One/ Jump Into the Fire“. –Redbeard
