In my classic rock interviews with both drummer Mitch Mitchell and Billy Cox concerning the last two years of the life and career of Jimi Hendrix, both musicians who comprised his rhythm section when he played Maui in 1970 agreed that his manager was booking increasingly questionable gigs,  apparently without any long-term benefit for Hendrix’s career or health but rather the payday. It was just such an event which was captured on film fifty years ago and has now been restored and released as Music, Money, Madness: Jimi Hendrix in Maui.  North American residents register below before midnight ET December 6 for the drawings, five winners in all, courtesy of Legacy Recordings/Experience Hendrix. –Redbeard
