Faces- Ooh La La 50th- Rod Stewart, Ronnie Wood, the late Ian McLagan

On the fiftieth anniversary of The Faces final effort, March 1973’s Ooh La La,  let’s just preface the various recollections from guitarist Ronnie Wood, keyboard player the late Ian McLagan, drummer Kenney Jones, and superstar Rod Stewart as wisened from maturity and tempered by time. Reports at the time allegedly reflected a working-class band of brothers, anchored by original Small Faces bass player Ronnie Lane, splitting into two factions after  rising star lead singer Stewart scored not one but two hit solo albums between The Faces’ 1971 A Nod is as Good as a Wink… and Ooh La La.

On the golden anniversary of what turned out to be The Faces finale Ooh La La, Rod Stewart, Ronnie Wood, and the late Ian McLagan share some of the best of this highly-regarded and influential British band (just ask the Georgia Satellites and the Black Crowes) including “Cindy Incidentally”,”Silicone Grown”,”Stay with Me”,”Miss Judy’s Farm”, “Too Bad”, “That’s All You Need”, and “Ooh La La” the week of March 20. –Redbeard
