The third time was the proverbial charm for The Police for international popularity on both sides of the pond forty years ago with Zenyatta Mondatta . The title may have been nonsensical but everyone now understood the talent of Sting‘s songwriting and unique vocal styling, and Stewart Copeland and Andy Summer‘s  quirky rock/ reggae amalgam in “Don’t Stand So Close to Me”,”When the World is Running Down”, “Driven to Tears”, and “De Doo Do Do,De Da Da Da”. Stewart, Andy, and Sting are my guests for Zenyatta Mondatta ‘s fortieth anniversary here In the Studio  the week of September 28. –Redbeard
