History of Southern Rock, pt1- Gregg Allman, Dickey Betts, Gary Rossington, Charlie Daniels, Doug Gray, Henry Paul

It is a bold attempt to encompass adequately the history of Southern Rock, and to do so requires two episodes and over two hours, but In the Studio‘s vast one-on-one interview archives, with exclusive conversations with the Allman Brothers Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Marshall Tucker Band, Charlie Daniels, and The Outlaws, are uniquely qualified to do it.

We’ll start with the Allman Brothers Band’s the late Gregg Allman and Dickey Betts; Marshall Tucker Band’s singer/songwriter Doug Gray and the late Jerry Eubanks; the late Gary Rossington and Leon Wilkeson of Lynyrd Skynyrd; the patriarch of the Southern Rock family tree, the late Charlie Daniels; and singer/songwriter Henry Paul with the late Hughie Thomasson, singer/songwriter/lead guitarist with The Outlaws. Don’t miss In the Studio‘s History of Southern Rock part one here starting the week of January 22. -Redbeard
