Boston- Something About You- Worcester MA 8-16-87

Here is an amazing 1987 performance of "Something About You" by Boston with incredible twin harmony guitars from Tom Scholz and Gary Pihl, and Doug Huffman providing superb vocal harmony for the late Brad Delp.

The Who- Love Ain’t for Keeping- Toronto 12-82

In the Studio  for the 55th anniversary of The Who's magnificent masterpiece "Who's Next" this weekend, we share an ultra-rare performance of one of the more under-exposed chestnuts from it, "Love Ain't for Keeping".

U2- Bad/40/Where the Streets Have No Name- Boston 6-6-01

The indomitable Dublin quartet U2 has been a force on the live music stage for so long that I have witnessed it go from playing on cafeteria tables in a little club in Memphis to the world's largest stadiums. But at some point during every show in more than four decades of witnessing them, U2 and their audience transcend the rock concert sturm und drang and it more closely resembles a big tent revival, as it did that night in Boston June 2001 during this medley of "Bad" into "Where the Streets Have No Name".

Bonnie Raitt- Love Me Like a Man- Austin- Memorial Day 1987

When she played a memorable acoustic set on Memorial Day weekend at Austin's Auditorium Shores back in 1987, Bonnie Raitt called out hometown harp honker Kim Wilson, then of the Fabulous Thunderbirds, to join her on Chris Smithers' "Love Me Like a Man".

Aerosmith- Last Child- Brussels 10-31-93

Originally found on Aerosmith “Rocks”  fifty years ago, this little mid-tempo song was performed in concert on Halloween in Belgium in 1993. "Last Child" is proof that Aerosmith rocks in any language, on any continent, in any decade.

Robert Cray- Smoking Gun- Dallas 1987

Queen- Bohemian Rhapsody/Killer Queen medley- London 1975

The regal rock of Queen came of age on the stage by this time in 1975 as is evidenced by this stunning performance at London's Odeon Theater with a medley of songs "Black Queen" from Queen II,  "Killer Queen" from their first solid album, 1974's Sheer Heart Attack , and their breakthrough "Bohemian Rhapsody" from Queen's fourth effort, A Night at the Opera.

Queen- Spread Your Wings- London 10-28-77

Queen always was one of those top-tier bands who could really sing and play their highly arranged material live, and here is ample proof of that fact in a rare live-in-studio performance of "Spread Your Wings" from Autumn 1977, broadcast on BBC Radio from  London's Maida Vale Studio.

Aerosmith- Sweet Emotion/Peter Gunn- Brussels 10-31-93

When Aerosmith performed this blistering version of "Sweet Emotion/Peter Gunn" that Halloween night in Brussels over twenty-five years ago, the guys had already been performing the song from "Toys in the Attic" for almost twenty years by then, but clearly never doing it better.
