David Bowie- Changes- Los Angeles 1974

When David Bowie performed “Changes” from Hunky Dory in Los Angeles in 1974, it was not as the expected phenomenal Ziggy Stardust…persona. David still had many of the Spiders from Mars band of Brits, including his main man guitarist Mick Ronson, plus introducing soon-to-be sax star David Sanborn, but doubtful anyone realized the irony then, either in the audience or in the band. But now with historical hindsight, we can see that David Bowie gave us hints of big changes and of a pending musical left turn even that night, as the live concert set also contained such musical hints of his intentions as “On Broadway” and “Knock on Wood”. –Redbeard
