Greg Lake- From the Beginning- Dallas 1992

Greg Lake brought his choirboy voice In the Studio to my Q102 Dallas/ Ft Worth radio show one afternoon in 1992, sat a curvy blonde on his knee ( a guitar ), and sang several songs including the gorgeous "From the Beginning", which appeared on Emerson, Lake, and Palmer's 1972 progressive rock album "Trilogy".

John Fogerty- Blue Boy- Burbank 5-12-97

John Fogerty had attracted an "A" list live band and had been rehearsing at Burbank's Center Staging, so we did the interview there, then turned those thoroughbreds loose on the song "Blue Boy" in front of a lucky small audience of guests in May 1997.

Sammy Hagar- I Can’t Drive 55- Dallas 12-4-91 (w/Van Halen)

ZZ Top- Tubesnake Boogie- Gruene Hall, New Braunfels TX

This was something longtime ZZ Top fans had been dreaming about for decades: a horned toad's eye view of Billy Gibbons, Frank Beard, and now dearly departed Dusty Hill at rehearsal in the Lone Star state in historic roadhouse Gruene Hall in New Braunfels, nestled in the Texas Hill Country, knocking the bottom out of the ornery bucket shuffle "Tubesnake Boogie" for the Grammy-nominated film documentary ZZ Top: That Little Ol' Band from Texas.

Black Crowes- My Morning Song- Houston 2-6-93

We are so thrilled to be able to share this white-hot performance in Houston of the Black Crowes, newly headlining arenas by 1993 and clearly up for the task, mighty tight and hittin' the note on "My Morning Song". Thankfully, this time no idiot in the crowd pulled the P.A. stack down on top of audience members near the stage wings.

Black Crowes- Remedy- Oklahoma City 5-10-95

The Black Crowes' finest hour may have been their benefit performance for the shell-shocked innocent citizens of Oklahoma City following the worst terrorist attack in the US April 19,1995.

This storied, much-bootlegged live-in-studio Little Feat performance from 1974 is actually the title song from their second album, "Sailin' Shoes", from the master tape and should get your behind in the proper frame of mind for our fiftieth anniversary interview coming here In the Studio the first week in May.

U2- Bad/40/Where the Streets Have No Name- Boston 6-6-01

The indomitable Dublin quartet U2 has been a force on the live music stage for so long that I have witnessed it go from playing on cafeteria tables in a little club in Memphis to the world's largest stadiums. But at some point during every show in more than four decades of witnessing them, U2 and their audience transcend the rock concert sturm und drang and it more closely resembles a big tent revival, as it did that night in Boston June 2001 during this medley of "Bad" into "Where the Streets Have No Name".

Original Foreigner lead singer Lou Gramm (c), Foreigner founder/guitarist Mick Jones (l), and former bassist Bruce Turgon (r) having fun with that "Dirty White Boy" Redbeard while In the Studio  on Q102 Dallas/Ft.Worth in February 1995. Both…
