Mark Knopfler- Romeo and Juliet- Grand Prairie TX 9-8-19

When Mark Knopfler rolled into the Dallas-Ft.Worth suburbs in September 2019 carrying a really large band ( I believe I counted fourteen musicians in addition to Mark ), it was in stark contrast to the way the world had been introduced to his talent and brand of storytelling in Autumn 1978 with Dire Straits, centered in the hole-in-the-wall billiards halls that populated the South London docks. Nevertheless as you can hear, his uncanny ability shrank the sold-out 7,000 seater to pub intimacy with this rendering of “Romeo and Juliet“, originally on Dire Straits‘ Making Movies   album in 1980. -Redbeard
