Even as early as August 1991, veteran American singer/songwriter Bob Seger was easing into the role of Rock Elder Statesman with The Fire Inside, the Detroit bandleader’s fourteenth (!) studio album, and Seger’s first of new material since the multi-platinum Like a Rock five years earlier. Containing “The Real Love” as well as the mini-epic title song “The Fire Inside”, the album blazed a familiar trail to Top Ten sales on Billboard and earned yet another million-seller designation for Bob Seger.
