Steve Miller Band- Fly Like an Eagle 50th! 5-11

It is the golden anniversary of Steve Miller Band’s iconic Fly Like an Eagle, one of the most significant albums not only in Miller’s lifelong career but also in the evolution of America’s migration of radio music listening from the AM to the FM dial. Beginning in May 1976, Miller crafted an almost perfect song cycle of “Fly Like an Eagle”, “Wild Mountain Honey”, “Take the Money and Run”, “Rock’n Me”, all woven together seamlessly with trippy synthesizer interludes. Already the veteran Texas transplant’s ninth album (!), the result was spectacular sales of over four million copies, a slot on Rolling Stone magazine’s Top 500 Albums All Time, and Fly Like an Eagle‘s recognition as “culturally, historically, and aesthetically significant” by the US Library of Congress!
