Bob Seger- The Fire Inside

August 26, 1991 I had the great honor and pleasure of co-hosting the world premiere radio broadcast  with Bob Seger of "The Fire Inside". His fourteenth (!) studio album, it came a long five years after Seger and the Silver Bullet Band's "Like a Rock", the Detroit rocker's fifth multi-million seller in a row.

Bob Seger followed up his breakthroughs "Live Bullet" and "Night Moves" with May 1978's  "Stranger in Town", which has sold over 7,000,000 copies because it contains seminal songs "Hollywood Nights","Old Time Rock and Roll","Still the Same","Feel Like a Number"," 'Til It Shines", and "Brave Strangers". Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band- Night Moves 50th Anniversary

"We did two hundred sixty-five shows that year 1975," says Bob Seger with a mixture of pride and amazement, as explanation on why it was so hard to find the solitary time necessary to write well-crafted songs prior to "Night Moves". The double disc "Live Bullet", recorded in Fall 1975 and released six months later, provided that precious period...by October 1976 with Night Moves containing "Rock and Roll Never Forgets","Main Street","The Fire Down Below","Come to Poppa", and the title song which Bob calls "...a little novelette."
