Graham Parker- You Can’t Be Too Strong- Dallas 10-88

Regardless of where you now stand on the issue of abortion rights, I think we all would agree that this touching, tender, yet confrontationally honest song from Graham Parker‘s 1979 masterpiece Squeezing Out Sparks (#331 on Rolling Stone‘s Top 500 Albums of All Time) took great empathy for Parker to write and great courage to release forty years ago. I asked GP to sing this during a visit to Dallas radio station Q102 in October 1988.

Being a personal “desert island disc” for yours truly, you can imagine my delight to find that Parker has chosen to mark the fortieth anniversary of Squeezing Out Sparks  by releasing the entire album with very song done acoustically! –Redbeard
