Bryan Adams- You Want It, You Got It 45th Anniversary

Bryan Adams was startled to find his impressive second album You Want It, You Got It was about to mark a significant anniversary in July. So we asked Bryan to point out his favorites still from that impressive second effort which clearly pointed to greatness forty-five years ago, including “Lonely Nights”, “One Good Reason”, “Tonight”, and the rocker “Fits Ya Good”.

If you lived in the US in late 2015/ Winter 2016, for whatever reason it is quite possible that you missed out on the fact that Bryan Adams released a strong album, Get Up!   Bryan was so happy to rekindle his famous songwriting partnership with Jim Vallance that he needed ELO mastermind Jeff Lynne to collaborate on Bryan’s strongest new songs in years. Bryan Adams returned In the Studio exhorting us all to Get Up, featuring several Adams originals that were as good as anything the international star had written and sung over his stellar four decade-plus career. We covered a lot of topic territory in this conversation including the Jeff Lynne Effect; channeling Freddy Mercury; the “throw out the incumbents” trend extending into the music business; and how his photography has evolved from hobby to humanitarianism.

And along with the warm close-mic’ed Jeff Lynne production on Bryan’s catchy “That’s Rock and Roll”,”We Did It All”,”Go Down Rockin’ “, the celebratory story song “Brand New Day”, the Beatlesque “Don’t Even Try”, and the melancholy “Yesterday is Just a Dream”. –Redbeard Redbeard ( l ) gets up! with Bryan Adams and Kurt Gilchrist ( r ) of Sirius XM Satellite Radio backstage in Dallas/ Ft.Worth, 2016.
