The second Dire Straits release, Communique   early in Summer 1979, is one of those elusive  but long on satisfaction efforts that remains under-appreciated to this day, which because it was so overlooked by radio back then that Communique   seems so fresh today. I place the collection which contains “Once Upon a Time in the West”, “Lady Writer”, and the title song in the same woefully ignored category of personal faves as Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers‘ criminally maligned Long After Dark  in the same period. –Redbeard
