Faces- A Nod is as Good as a Wink…55th- Rod Stewart, Ron Wood

It is the fifty-fifth anniversary of the rock’n’roll classic A Nod is as Good as a Wink…” by London’s lovable The Faces. “Let’s face it,” blurted out a refreshingly candid Rod Stewart (yes, he actually said that),”we were a bunch of losers. You had me and Ronnie Wood, who had gotten kicked out of the Jeff Beck Group, with the leftovers of The Small Faces. But it worked, my God it worked!”

Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood, plus the late keyboard player Ian McLagan, set the table for A Nod is as Good as a Wink… containing the furious “Miss Judy’s Farm”, “Too Bad”, the Chuck Berry chestnut “Memphis, Tennessee”, and the worldwide timeless classic “Stay With Me” here In the Studio on the double-nickel anniversary the week of October 11. -Redbeard
