Fleetwood Mac “White Album” @50- Mick Fleetwood, Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham 7-6
This pending monumental golden anniversary of Fleetwood Mac has snuck up on me, and after some thought I believe I know why: for one, it was released Summer 1975 with no fanfare whatsoever, and it took months before rock radio realized just how many great songs there were on here to play, including “Monday Morning”, “Rhiannon”, “Over My Head”, “Say You Love Me”, “Landslide”, and “I’m So Afraid”. The other reason why it just seems impossible that a half century has passed since the Fleetwood Mac “White Album” was released is how these songs, performances, and recorded sound have not dated in the least. Truly timeless stuff.
My guests here In the Studio include band co-founder and drummer Mick Fleetwood along with a couple of struggling unknowns he’d stumbled upon then, guitarist/singer/songwriter Lindsey Buckingham and singer/songwriter Stevie Nicks, to share the fairytale fifty years on of Fleetwood Mac the week of July 6! – Redbeard
