In every saga there is a point at which the protagonists must either go big or go home, which is precisely how fifty years ago that progressive rockers Kansas decided to carry on by serving up Leftoverture, their fourth album.

As fate would have it, and my guests in Kansas guitarist/songwriter Kerry Livgren, guitarist Richard Williams, and drummer Phil Ehart reveal, Leftoverture was a banquet of virtuosity and seemingly pure luck, seasoned with hope and a dash of desperation.
