This Memorial Day weekend, we present our annual tribute to rockers we have lost with Echoes In the Studio, a tribute to some of those musicians we have lost in the preceding twelve months, in their own words and, in some cases, through personal memoirs by other musician peers. In this part one of four, we salute Tina Turner, Jeff Beck, Meat Loaf, Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac, Procol Harum's Gary Brookr and Keith Reid by Bryan Adams, Rod Stewart, and Stevie Nicks.

When the Jeff Beck Group made their American debut at New York City's Fillmore East, no one in the audience watching  the young lead singer Rod Stewart hide behind the backline amps  due to major stage fright could have imagined that the raspy-throated rooster-haired Englishman would become an international star just three years later with his third solo album, 1971's "Every Picture Tells a Story".
