Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes 40th Anniversary

In advance of the release of Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes‘ 1991 album Better Days, Southside Johnny Lyon visited my Dallas radio show to discuss his tenth (!) album then, as well as the Jukes’ 1976 debut forty years ago This Time It’s for Real containing the Bruce Springsteen chestnut “The Fever”; 1977’s  I Don’t Want to Go Home; the essential 4.5 star Hearts of Stone in 1978; The Jukes in ’79 with “Living in the Real World”; the instant classic “It’s Been a Long Time” featuring Johnny with producer/ songwriter/ running buddies  Steven Van Zandt and Bruce Springsteen; and why Southside Johnny knows Bruce to be “the most ruthless Monopoly player ever” !- Redbeard
