Stevie Nicks- Bella Donna 45th Anniversary 7-27

By July 1981 and the release of her debut solo effort Bella Donna, singer/songwriter Stevie Nicks had been a big part of reinventing the veteran mid-chart Anglo-American Fleetwood Mac franchise into the top-selling band in the world. Nevertheless, in that line-up Nicks found herself as one of three talented songwriters, in the LP vinyl days of around eight song opportunities on a record album, vying for a seat in a very competitive game of musical chairs.

Stevie Nicks is my guest In the Studio with a very intimate look at the #1-selling Bella Donna which contained “Edge of Seventeen”, the lovely duet with Don Henley on her “Leather and Lace”, and the timeless hit with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around”. That’s the forty-fifth anniversary of Bella Donna with Stevie Nicks the week of July 27. – Redbeard
