Rock Hall Righteous Recognition: Joe Cocker!!!

Seriously? That could not possibly be correct. Certainly the late Joe Cocker, who as a rookie stole the show at the Woodstock Festival and subsequent movie, and then was the subject of his own full-length movie, double live album, and tour with Leon Russell  with Mad Dogs and Englishmen, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame years ago, right?

THE Joe Cocker: acolyte of the great Ray Charles, the Yorkshire leather lungs who reinterpreted and made definitive versions of “Feelin’ Alright”,”With a LittleHelp from My Friends”,”The Letter”,”Cry Me a River”,”Unchain My Heart”,”You Can Leave Your Hat On”,”Up Where We Belong”,”She Came in Through the Bathroom Window”,”Delta Lady”,”When the Night Comes”, and “You Are So Beautiful” must have been a first ballot lock for Rock Hall induction. Surely somehow it’s just a typo (that’s current King Charles of England honoring Joe Cocker, bestowing the Order of the British Empire award for his lifetime of excellence in 2007) that you can’t seem to find dear sweet Joe Cocker listed “up where he belongs”. Oh, if wishes were horses…
